Help me help some amazing people supporting those without a voice...
Weymouth, Auckland
Hi, I am a very amateur runner whose done something really stupid and signed up for the 50km Tawawera Ultra Marathon in February (50km!!!). I have been running for just over a year now, gradually building fitness but along the way I lost my best friend, an almost 15 year old fur baby. There is a lot of emotion behind running and we all do it for different reasons, I had never really thought much about that before but I wanted to run for a reason and make a difference if I could. So I am going to train for this crazy ultra marathon, do most of my training with my beautiful rescue girl, Mylar and try and raise as much money for The Saving Hope Foundation.
I follow this amazing organisation on facebook and see every day how many abused, left for dead and tortured dogs are out there and how these amazing people make such a huge difference to their lives. It has been said by them that trying to end animal cruelty is like emptying out the ocean, one teaspoon at a time and that every life matters and this couldn't be truer.
So I'm asking for my friends, family, strangers, anyone who loves dogs, to help me raise some funds for these special dogs, which will be given to them after my run in February. This will help them do what they do best, advocate for those with no voice and give them a chance. Dogs are by far the BEST animals in the world and 99.9% of the time, better than humans! (except those who donate haha)
Thank you so much Amber xx
