Fundraising for Run72
Canterbury
We, the Roundtree Racoons, have joined Lads Without Labels in their 72-hour running event, not just to test our physical limits, but to raise awareness and vital funds for men's mental health. The number 72 symbolises a stark reality - the alarming percentage of suicides in New Zealand linked to men. Having triumphed in the local social university rugby competition, we felt it was time for us seasoned professionals to give back to our community and support a cause we're all deeply passionate about.
Our mission is clear: to cover the distance from our beloved sponsor's place, the Bush Inn Tavern, to the home of one of our fiercest warriors, Leo Watson, a challenging 700 kilometres. This is to be achieved during the 72 hours.
Our goal is to raise $5000 during this event. This year, every dollar raised at Run72 will be channelled into the Lads Without Labels Counselling Initiative. With every $150 we collect, we enable another student to sit down with a trained counsellor, receiving the support they need.
We're reaching out to you, our community, for support, big or small, as we strive to make a significant impact on men's mental health. Your contribution, whether a small step or a giant leap, is greatly appreciated and takes us one step closer to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. Together, we can make a difference, one kilometre at a time.
