Time to stop thinking about only my problems and help provide resources to people in the world with real issues.
Canterbury
I've spent my life running from my own problems, so I decided to switch things up and run to help solve other peoples problems.
Engineers Without Borders are aiming to fund-raise a total of $10,000 this year, which will be used in developing communities in the South Pacific and New Zealand. The money will be used to help provide the engineering resources and knowledge that we are accustomed to, yet they frequently go without. Any small amount of help that myself and other runners can provide will be invaluable to these people.
As far as exercise goes, running would be my clear least favourite, so EWB is clearly a cause that I believe in. And running 10km is a tiny sacrifice when people across the world are walking that and further simply to access water.
A cause I've admired for a long time as an engineering student which I unfortunately haven't been as involved with as I'd like. This is my chance to change that.
