Raising funds for Breast Cancer research in NZ & the UK, in memory of Liz
Wellington
Earlier this year, my dear high school friend Liz died of breast cancer. At just 43 she leaves behind family including her parents, husband and 11 year old daughter.
I still can’t believe she’s not with us but think of Liz on every run. She was one of the people who really encouraged me to start running 5 years ago through her own example and determination. She had such strength, enthusiasm and resilience and is missed dearly.
I’m running the Battersea Park Half Marathon in London on May 10th to raise money in Liz’s memory, to honour her life and brilliance, and to support the Breast Cancer Foundation who are doing critical work in research, education and support services.
Every donation, large or small, will help fund work that saves lives, supports patients, and moves us closer to a future where fewer people have to endure this loss.
Thank you so much for donating - I really appreciate your support & generosity. (Please check my social media pages for how to help if you are not in NZ).

We did it ! 11 May 2025
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. Really pleased to say I completed the half in memory of Liz yesterday. A warmer than expected day at 20 degrees or so and a lot of wind and pollen to contend with but really great atmosphere. Not my fastest time, but I was thrilled to maintain a pretty consistent pace and got round in 2 and a half hours. The last few ks were especially challenging, but I was very much thinking of Liz and of all of you generous people who have donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation - thank you !
Thank you ! A very generous donation & your support means a lot.
