Sarah and Kingston will be climbing Mount Maunganui 38 times to raise awareness and funds for Tauranga Womens Refuge.
Bay of Plenty
The 2017 Mount Everest Challenge is supporting Tauranga Womens Refuge.
Beginning 17 Feb 2017
Ends 7 April 2017.
Sarah and Kingston will Climb Mauao 38 times over 50 days. Kingston is 2yrs old and will be strapped to mum's back for the duration. This pack is approximately 20kgs and our goal is 50 times in 50 days which makes this challenge a little more challenging.
This very deserving charity needs as much money as we can raise to be able to continue the amazing work they do in our community.
All funds raised benefit:
Tauranga Womens Refuge who offer a co-ordinated approach to supporting women and children who are experiencing domestic violence.
My name is Sarah, I am a registered nurse and dance teacher in Mount Maunganui. I am a born and bred Mounty, I have a 2yr old son Kingston to my amazing husband Marshall also from this area.
As a child domestic violence was the norm however the consequences for children who grow up in these types of environments can last a life time. We need to speak up for all those without a voice and those who are yet to find the strength and courage to get the support they need.
We are participating in this challenge not only to support woman but also to support the men and children involved in domestic violence.
