Fundraising for PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation
Auckland
I have been growing my hair for the last 2 years and the time has finally come. I am donating my hair to Locks of Love, a charitable organisation that supplies wigs for all medical causes for hair loss, but specifically children with cancer.
I have chosen to raise money for PINC & STEEL along the way. My mother passed away from breast cancer when I was 10 years old and I have always known this was an area I wanted to work in. I am now a physiotherapist at Harbour Cancer Centre and have seen first hand the difference physical rehabilitation can make to someone's quality of life living with cancer. PINC & STEEL is a physio led organisation designed to provide funding for physiotherapy services to those who are diagnosed with cancer and who would otherwise struggle to fund the service themselves. We know that cancer and its related treatments are tough but if we can provide our patients with the tools and knowledge to reduce side effect severity, increase treatment efficacy, improve mental health, maintain physical function, and improve quality of life whilst on and after treatment, then we are making a meaningful difference!
I would love to raise $1000 for PINC & STEEL and would be incredibly grateful of your support no matter how small. I will be doing the chop on the 1st of December. I will be posting photos, before and after the cut, for those that are interested here and on my Facebook page.
Sean has been shorn! 2 December 2022
So, it has happened and here are the photos to prove it!
I couldn't be happier with the generosity and support I have received over the last few months to help raise almost $5,000 to go towards PINC & STEEL and support the lives of people suffering from cancer. So here is another thank you to you all!
I can only fit a few photos here on the give a little page, so I will be posting a link to a Facebook post I am creating which should contain a few more photos and videos for those who would like to see the full process.
Thanks for getting it done! Really appreciate your support!
Thank you Cailin and Jeremiah! Would be great to see you both in the near future! It has been so long
