The PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Trust helps men and women rehabilitate after any type of cancer surgery and treatments.

The PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Programs provide individualized, prescribed rehabilitation to women and men diagnosed with cancer; helping them heal as well as possible, and function at optimal levels through every stage of their treatment and recovery.
They are specifically designed to help maximise recovery, regain physical and emotional strength, improve body confidence and control.
We have funded over 5000 men and women throughout New Zealand affected by cancer rehabilitate from the effects of their treatment to regain their strength, incorporate exercise into their lifestyle and improve their quality of life.
The Cancer Rehabilitation Foundation (PINC & STEEL) is New Zealand’s only charity dedicated to cancer rehabilitation. Our mission is to help people affected by cancer reclaim the quality of life they deserve.
Hospitals treat the disease. We focus on recovery. By picking up where the hospital system leaves off, we fund and connect people with certified cancer rehab physiotherapists in their communities — providing expert rehabilitation that runs alongside and beyond medical treatment.
In New Zealand, public funding for rehabilitation is very limited, and access depends on whether patients can afford it. Without rehab, countless New Zealanders face long-term disability, mental health challenges, and chronic illness — leaving many unable to return to work, maintain independence, or support their families. They miss out on the recovery essential to reclaiming their lives.
What We Deliver (the outcomes we see every week):
Faster recovery and reduced symptoms
Higher return-to-work rates
Better mental health and quality of life
Greater ability to self-manage health, maintain independence and return to family life.
Less burden on caregivers
Reduced pressure on the health system
And critically: rehabilitation enables people to exercise, unlocking the proven survival benefits that exercise delivers.
