Second chop for Gabes
Raising money and donating hair in memory of a treasured friend.

In 2018, in memory of a wonderful friend Gabriel Wharehinga; I chopped all my hair off to donate it to cancer and alopecia patients and to donate over $600 to the Child Cancer Foundation, a charity which helped Gabes and his whānau during his fights with cancer.
Gabes was a talented, young leader who touched so many lives, we had known each other since primary school. On the 11th of October (our shared birthday) we would always race over to each other before class to see who could say "Happy Birthday" first. Flash forward to high school, he became Head Boy of his college in 2015, along with being an incredibly talented and enthusiastic leader, he was a talented actor, sportsperson and a compassionate, funny and supportive friend.
In memory of Gabes will be cutting my hair off (to a bob) and donating to the Child Cancer Foundation again.
