Jo’s journey with vision loss—support Blind Low Vision NZ to help others like her

Auckland

🌟 Jo’s Story Why Your Help Matters

One morning, Jo woke up and the world wasn’t the same.( we know it’s a lot more complicated than that)

Shapes blurred. Light faded. Everyday things like pouring a coffee, walking down the street, or putting on mascara suddenly became mountains to climb.

But Jo refuses to stop living.

With the help of Blind Low Vision NZ, she is learning how to navigate a world she can no longer see, how to cross roads safely, use a cane with confidence, cook without fear, and hold on to independence and dignity.

Now Jo wants to give something back.

Instead of birthday gifts or flowers, she’s asking for kindness.

Every donation goes directly to Blind Low Vision NZ—funding guide dogs, mobility training, support workers, technology, and hope for people just like her.

Jo can’t see the world anymore but together, we can make it brighter.

Thank you for helping.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
