I have been selected to represent NZ as a member of SGCNZ TGG 2018
Auckland
I have been selected as a member of Shakespeare Globe Centre NZ Teachers Go Global 2018 (SGCNZ TGG).
SGCNZ TGG 2018 will travel to the UK in the July school holidays departing Auckland early on Friday 6 July and arriving back in Auckland on Wednesday 25 July 2018
What is SGCNZ?
Founded in 1991, Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand is a life skills enhancing organisation, using Shakespeare as a tool. With education and development of potential of all ages as principal focuses, participants in its activities go on to
become leaders, high achievers, and at the same time, great team players. They give back to the community in a multitude of ways, playing key roles in growing the arts and making positive contributions to various professions and society as a whole. Teachers play a vital role in this. Continual communications from SGCNZ Alumni of all ages reflect the benefits in a wide variety of ways.
The Trip
From Friday 6 July until we return to NZ on 25 July, this group will participate in a comprehensive and exciting ‘package’, based principally at Shakespeare’s Globe, of workshops, Q&A sessions
about the plays with actors and directors, behind the scene tours of the Globe, Rose and other theatres, observe sessions with local Southwark schools with Globe Education Practitioners, teach themselves and watch performances.
We will also have the rare chance to be rehearsed by a Globe Director and perform 45 minutes of scenes from one of the 2018 Globe Season plays (yet to be announced). We will have the amazing opportunity to perform for invited public on the Globe stage at 11.15pm on Thursday 20 July 2018.
My Dream
As many of you well know, theatre has been my passion and my focus since I was a wee 5 year old. This really is a dream come true for me and as I plan and imagine, the more excited I am getting! It's an amazing opportunity for me and I am tickled pink to be a part of such an incredible life changing experience.
SGCNZ is an almost entirely voluntary not-for-profit organisation, and as such does not have the funds these teachers require to assist them with the $9660 cost per person for trip.
Registered with the Charities Commission, SGCNZ has Charitable Donee Status. If you wish to make a payment through SGCNZ, they will issue a receipt and forward the amount to be credited to my account for the trip.
Time for a clear out!!! 8 February 2018
Hi all! So I’m going to be clearing out lots of my lads preloved items and selling them at the nearly new Auckland Mama market to increase my efforts in fundraising! So if any of my wonderful friends needs clothes, toys or general baby items - this is the place to go!!!
