Support me as I shave my head to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of those lost and affected by Breast Cancer.
Canterbury
My name is Sarah Casey. I'm a year 13 at Rangi Ruru Girls School. I have been growing my hair for as long as I can remember and on November 1st I plan to shave it all off!. This has been something I have wanted to do for the past 2-3 years but have finally worked up the courage to go through with it- but I need your support!
Recently, two people I know have been diagnosed and battling breast cancer, and while one has received the all clear, the other does not have the same news. Because of this, I want to dedicate my head shave to those who have lost their battle with breast cancer, the survivors and those who are still fighting this horrible disease.
My goal is to raise money for The Breast Cancer Foundation to support their research into advancements in treating breast cancer and in particular new breakthroughs into treating metastatic breast cancer.
When I was 2 1/2 years old, my Mum, Sue, lost her battle with breast cancer. This has shaped and defined who I am today and has been the main influence in my decision to shave my head in the hope that in the future other women who are faced with this diagnosis will have a better chance.
It is a cause very close to me and I hope that you will be able to support me through this Give a Little page.
Breast cancer has had such a large impact on my family and myself as well as so many kiwis every year. I want to contribute to cancer research, in hope of helping the search for a cure.
