Running the 1/2 marathon as Floki the Viking. Shaving my head and getting tattoos and the eyeliner out.
Auckland
I'm running the Auckland 1/2 marathon dressed up as Viking for a cause that helps people cope with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). This charity helps manage symptoms, improve their sense of wellbeing by facilitating opportunities to communicate with others affected by IBD and ultimately increase the quality of life of children and adults affected by this disease.
I'll be shaving my head (properly) and getting tatoos and the eyeliner out on the day. I'lll also upload the image above of 'Floki' to my Linkedin profile once I've received $100 in donations
I have three very healthly and active boys and take this for granted. Recently, I was made aware of the terrible impact this disease can have, espcially for children and teenagers.
'CAMP PURPLE LIVE' is a New Zealand camp for children and teenagers with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. It gives them an opportunity to have real fun and be in a supportive and safe environment that has proved to build their confidence and friendships.
The big day! 29 October 2017
A big thank you for all your generous donations. When the hills we never ending and knowing I had your support gave me that inspiration to push through the pain!!
Despite the overly hot outfit, I sprinted though the finish line at a reasonable 2:16, pretty much the target time.
The offical photos will be posted in the next couple of days.
