Sierra - YWAM Queenstown

On the 4th of April 2021 I’m planning on starting my DTS (Discipleship Training School) through YWAM.

For the past year I’ve been dairy farming in Fairlie which has been an awesome experience. I’ve met so many cool people and learn’t so much from my brother and the team there.

During this time I gave my heart to Jesus and he’s been changing my life since that day. Living with Him is amazing and I’m so excited for the future He’s planned for me.

Recently I’ve felt God calling me to draw nearer to Him and maybe do something other then farming. So I decided to visit Mum and Dad in Nelson to try figure out my next moves.

We planned a trip to help my decision making and began our journey north on the 7th of January.

Cruising along to Picton I took my eyes off the road for a second too long and crashed my car. Thankfully everyone was okay and after a double check at the Hospital we rolled out to Momorangi Bay to catch some rays and good wairua as our trip had now been postponed.

Missing my support crew from the South I decided I needed to go to Church but it was a Thursday. What to do!?

I asked Dad to take me to the Christians in Nelson wherever they were as I was pretty desperate to know God’s plan for me next.

We were driving past the YWAM base on our way back and Dad suggested to pop in there.

I was pretty tired by then and it was pouring with rain... so a bit off it, but Dad managed to convince me to go in for a coffee... 10 minutes into conversation with some of the staff I was invited to stay and didn’t leave till three days later.

My time with the YWAM crew was amazing. I met some awesome people doing awesome Mahi for God and was given the chance to do DTS.

I am so keen to fully focus on God and learn more about Him and his calling for my life.

YWAM will consist of a 12 week lecture phase involving topics on worship, prayer, hearing from God, the father heart of God, appologetics, evangelism etc. Then will move on to an 8 week outreach phase either overseas (if any countries open up) and outreach through the north island.

I’m so stoked this opportunity’s come up and would love any help in getting there... either by praying for me or donating.

What the funds will go towards -

$3950 for lecture phase

$500 transport fee

$2000-$3000 outreach phase (price dependent on location)
