Ski for ME, Ski for YOU

We all know someone in our lives who have faced challenges around mental health. We will complete 100km on the Concept SkiErg at The Bach - Pop Up. 801 Port Road, Whangamata on Thursday 29th December kicking off at 9:00 am.

So let us introduce ourselves - Ange Walker - ex Ironman - aged 60 (uncle) and Patrick Begley - competitive hockey player - aged 22 (nephew). We came up with this event to challenge ourselves to push through the hard times and came up with the concept to use it as an event to raise awareness and help others. Whilst this is a physical challenge, our mental strengths will also be tested. To assist youth to access the services they require we have chosen the I AM HOPE/Gumboot Friday charity for this fundraising event.

This is NOT just a one-day challenge, we will be undertaking intense daily training sessions to ensure we are ready for the event. We started training 5 weeks ago and are completing roughly 13.5 hours per week to date. Currently we are averaging 10km per 40 minutes.
