The Southland Community Challenge is a grassroots event that encourages mass participation in recreation and charitable giving. From school children to local businesses, every dollar counts, and every dollar stays right here in Southland.

Let’s Create a Southland Legacy

This is more than a fundraiser - it’s a celebration of community. If the event is successful, it will become an annual tradition, and you can be part of its history from the very beginning.

The 2026 challenge will culminate with 12 local first responders carrying a Stokes Basket from Oreti Beach to Queens Park during the Wensley’s Cycles Surf to City event. The basket’s weight will increase based on donations—up to a maximum of 150kg—making it a true test of community spirit!
