KiwiHarvest Southland rescues surplus food and distributes it free to charities across Southland who feed people in need.
Invercargill, Southland
Every day in Southland, perfectly good food goes to waste while many local whānau struggle to put meals on the table. KiwiHarvest Southland bridges that gap. We work with supermarkets, wholesalers, growers, and food producers across the region to rescue surplus, nutritious food that might otherwise end up in landfill.
We offer a free service which includes collecting from our generous food donors and delivering directly to local charities, food banks, marae, and community organisations across Southland. These community partners then share the food with those who need it most: families doing it tough, older people living alone, and individuals facing unexpected hardship.
By nourishing people with healthy, fresh food, particularly fruit and vegetables, we’re helping to change lives and improve outcomes for those who might not otherwise have access to them. The impact goes beyond a full stomach; it’s about dignity, wellbeing, and hope.
Every donation makes a real difference. Just $5 enables KiwiHarvest Southland to provide enough rescued food to feed a family of four, three meals a day. Together, we can fight hunger, strengthen our communities, and protect the stunning environment we’re proud to call home.
