Let get the Speed Freaks to the Christchurch Marathon 2027

Hello!! I am raising money to help pay for Speed Freaks participants to run the Christchurch Marathon next year. The Speed Freaks is all about supporting recovery from addiction and mental distress through running and walking.

Running a marathon isn’t just a massive achievement, it's about building confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.

JULY 2026: I'll be running in a Backyard Ultra starting on 11 July. To make things a little more interesting, I'll be holding a poll on my social media where people can vote on which of six cringeworthy hats I'll have to wear if I make it to 24 laps. (Each lap is 6.7km completed in an hour)

I will be posting on my socials evidence of the winning hat just after the 24 hours.

MARCH 2026: I’ll be running the Christchurch marathon dressed as a chicken… inside a Barbie box (yes, really). I will be accompanied by Speed Freak Kieren, who kindly offered (what was he thinking?!) to run the whole marathon with me.

Your donation will help get more people to the start line (and the finish line!) who might not otherwise have the chance — and will also make this ridiculous chicken / Barbie dream feel slightly more justified. 🐔 This is poultry in motion...
