Completing an Ironman to fundraise for cancer

Help me raise money for cancer!
In January 2024 with no family history and in my 30’s, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Over the following 10 months, I faced surgery, IVF treatment, medical menopause, and chemotherapy. As I progressed through this challenging journey, I made a decision: I wanted to raise funds for cancer research and support. And what better way to do that than by taking on the grueling challenge of an Ironman?
I am incredibly honored to have been selected as one of the two Tony Jackson Scholarship recipients for the 2025 Taupo Ironman. I see this as an opportunity not only to challenge myself but to raise both funds and awareness for cancer research.
Cancer has profoundly affected my life, as well as the lives of many people close to me. My goal is to raise $25,000, with the funds going towards both breast cancer research and cancer research more broadly. A portion of the funds will also benefit the Breast Cancer support service Tauranga Trust, who have been an incredible source of support throughout my own journey.
This cause is deeply personal, and I am determined to help make a meaningful difference in the fight against cancer—whether it's through advancing research or providing much-needed support to others facing similar battles.
