Birds, purpose, people, charm

Bay of Plenty

It is with immense pride and satisfaction that I reflect upon the growth, development, and conservation achievements that Wingspan has realised over the years. What started as a fledgling effort in the world of conservation, and often struggling to find its wings, with the unwavering support of the Trustees, the dedication of talented staff, and the generosity of donors, we have transformed Wingspan into a leading force in the realm of raptor preservation within Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our accomplishments together have been nothing short of remarkable. We have successfully rehabilitated, released, and trained over a thousand raptors, and we have embraced culture, research, and raptor management. We’ve expanded our outreach programs to educate and inspire the next generation of conservationists. It has been an honour and a privilege to be a part of this journey.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you, past and present, for your unwavering support, trust, and belief in the vision we shared. I am grateful for the friendships forged and the memories created throughout this extraordinary journey in my life.

It’s been a privilege living with Wingspan for over the past three decades. I leave with my heart full of gratitude and my spirit filled with hope for continued success and prosperity.

Thank you!
