Fundraising for NZ Riding for the Disabled (NZRDA)
Hi, my names Stew. I’m a Wellington based “runner”. I use inverted comma’s because I’m a wheelchair user.
Growing up with my disability, one of the things that I used to look forward to was the hour or two each week that I could go to RDA or New Zealand Riding for the Disabled. I’d get to ride horses as a form of therapy although I didn’t realise that at the time.
I believe that those riding lessons have been a huge benefit to me as I’ve grown older. Things like building core strength enabling me to sit, balance and just all round confidence to name but a few.
That is why I have decided to give back to this great organisation that was so beneficial to me growing up.
In March next year I am planning to “run” 100 kilometres in my chair to raise funds for NZRDA.
