Auckland

Since I've started with Diabetes NZ, I've been shocked by the long-term health impacts of diabetes including heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, blindness and limb amputations. Type 1 diabetes ia an autoimmune disease that at this stage cannot be cured but for type 2 diabetes, many people might be able to prevent or delay type 2 by losing weight, changing their food choices and doing more exercise. That's the reason Adam and I are doing FABruary with the FAB standing for Fight Against Bulge. We are making pledges to give up consumables in the area of food and beverages and also commit to 30 minutes minimum exercise a day for the month of February. AND alcohol is one of the things that we are giving up as our pledge so you know how challenging that is going to be!!! Please support us in our efforts by making a donation which in turn will go to Diabetes NZ to help support the 257,000 people with diabetes in New Zealand and provide information that will help the 1 in 4 New Zealanders estimated to have prediabetes. Here's to a FAB Feb!!!!
