Dogwatch Sanctuary Trust @ Summer Starter 2016

$30 of $500 goal
Given by 2 generous donors in 10 weeks

Walk or Run to raise donations and awareness for the amazing charity Dogwatch Sanctuary Trust that gives condemned dogs a second chance.

Canterbury

Join in the fun and donate some spare dollars to this amazing charity, Dogwatch rescues and re homes dogs and puppies who, through no fault of their own, have ended up in the Christchurch City, Ashburton, Selwyn and Waimakariri pounds. After the 7 day holding period the council becomes the legal owner and at their discretion may re home the dog/puppy or destroy it. Dogwatch is contacted if no one steps forward to claim these dogs and, if they have kennel space, will take them into their care. Dogs with special needs and extremely young puppies will go into foster homes until they are ready for adoption.

Once they reach the safety of the Adoption Centre they get plenty of TLC as we get to know them and get them ready for adoption. While they are in their care they are vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed, desexed and socialized with the other dogs, puppies and people.

All this is done from a group of people who are passionate about giving the dogs that are unwanted a second chance at finding a new and loving home.

E pet care's involvement (page creator)

I have been a volunteer for DogWatch Sanctuary Trust for two and a half years and love the work that they do. Staff and the many volunteers work hard everyday and anything more I can do to help with them makes me very proud and grateful that DogWatch exists.

Without them, countless dogs wouldn't have been given another chance at life and the new families would have missed out on the love, life and affection that these beautiful animals have to offer.
