Walking the Traverse for Teiva
Mangere Bridge, Auckland
May 2021 our sky fell in when my husband Teiva was diagnosed with GBM grade 4. it was sudden and out of the blue- one day he was fit and well, next day we were told the news that he had a brain tumour and we should expect the worst.
We had just one final year to share together. We were grateful for the gift of time to spend together and prepare, friends and family are the most important thing when time is so short.
Throughout our journey we were supported by Brain Tumour Support NZ an awesome charity that provides support, guidance advocacy and information to patients and families of those suffering with brain cancer. Being able to share our story and get support and advice from others in the same situation was invaluable.
Our family has decided to walk the Auckland marathon traverse walk in support of Brain Tumour Support NZ. I am walking with our children Simon and Kelly and Jackie and Jenny, my sister and niece have come over from Uk. We will remember Teiva who loved to walk and hope to raise money to enable Brain Tumour Support to continue their good work.
