Cam's 10km swim to raise money for Pinc and Steel

Auckland

Last year I swam 5km in open water at the the 2025 Dock to Dock event in London UK. Which was a fantastic event and a great challenge. This year I'm taking it a step further and swimming 10km across London's Royal Docks, my first open water marathon event.

In training for last years event, I got some news that my Dad back home in NZ was diagnosed with an aggressive and well progressed form of cancer. Fortunately through many months of Chemotherapy and two Intensive operations, he has pulled through. Dad is now on the path of rehabilitation with the help of PINC AND STEEL who provide specialized, physiotherapist-led programs for people affected by cancer. Which is why I have decided to swim for more than just my own personal achievement in completing this challenge I have set myself. I want to couple my suffering with giving back to a cause that is helping my Dad get back on his feet and ready for life's next exciting challenge.

I have no specific fundraising goal in mind I just want to give a little back to an organization that is giving something back to my family. I will be happy with whatever is raised and I would greatly appreciate donations of any value.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
