Syds Moped Run 2025 Charity Donation

Syds Moped Run is a Moped and Small Motorbike run in Christchurch, New Zealand that started in 1995.

So this year (2025) marks the 30th Anniversary Run which the organising committee hopes to make the biggest ride ever!!

Syds Moped Run 2025 will start at Switch Coffee New Brighton, 7/78 Brighton Mall, New Brighton, Christchurch, on 22nd November at 9:00am

Syds Run started when a man named Syd Faulconer was approaching his 70th birthday. His family wanted to organise birthday celebrations but being a bit of a rascal decided he would rather have a moped ride with his mates instead!! It was with this ethos that Syds Moped Run began!

As the event has gained a profile and prominence it was decided to nominate a charity each year and this year Nurse Maude Hospice was chosen.

On the Ride day itself, we hope to have over 500 bikes of varying ability ride along for what is always a glorious day out and an absolute blast between fellow small bike 'pests'!!

Nurse Maude Hospice has been a big part of my life personally, as my Mum suffered from Multiple Sclerosis and was left bed bound by the end of her life. Nurse Maude helped to care for her for over 15 years with daily nursing and even nightly emergencies and had a big impact on our family.

Not to mention, all the other families that have help and support provided by Nurse Maude through all stages of life! From palliative care to day to day in the home many of our riding community have been aided by the quality care Nurse Maude nurses provide
