TBIG's 5km Challenge to support MATES in Construction NZ, a charity working to reduce the number of lives lost to suicide in NZ.

Wellington

The Building Intelligence Group's (TBIG) Wellington office have formed a group to enter in the Corporate Challenge 5km Event held on November 15th 2023. We are a Consultant Project Management company specialising in the property and construction industry with 11 offices nationwide.

Alongside this, we have chosen to fundraise and raise awareness for MATES in Construction NZ.

MATES is a charity organization focusing on reducing the number of lives lost to suicide in the construction industry. New Zealand is losing on average, 10 people every week to suicide. Of those people the construction industry alone is losing nearly one person every week, and 98% of those that we lose are our men. In 2019, construction had the highest male suicide rate for any occupational group. This is why we need to support our MATES.

TBIG are doing our bit to make a difference and stand by MATES in Construction to work to reducing these devastating statistics. If you have the means too, please take some time to donate or look further into how you can help combat suicide in New Zealand. For further information we've added a link to MATES in Construction's website.

The team consists of:

Abigail Richards, Alex Doyle, Danielle Casey, Darcy Palmer, Eleanor Glenton, Ian Summerfield, Inoke Fono, Jess Woods, Lauren Saunders, Martin Hubbard, Megan Russell, Tom McLean and Juliet Bonnor

Thanks in advance.
