TEAM BFC's 500KM DAY - SAT 13TH DEC

Auckland

Kia Ora,

We're Brent, James and Matt - and together we're Team BFC!

We're three keen cyclists who have come together this year as a team for the 2025 5 Passes Tour in late November. The 5 Passes Tour consists of four days stage racing to cross the South Island from Christchurch to Greymouth and back. We're extremely thankful to have sponsorship backing from Bondor NZ, Cabin Centre and Fonko Airconditioning for our training camp and race (no surprises where Team "BFC" came from).

Together we have decided that as a thank you to our sponsors, and others who support our journey, we would love to take the opportunity to pay it forward and push our physical and mental strength to raise money for a good cause.

We have decided that on Saturday December 13th we will tackle a 500km bike ride with the goal of completing the ride within 24hrs. We have chosen to fundraise for Starship Children's Hospital.

Bikes are a major aspect of all of our lives and we strongly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to get out there on a bike!

Any donation is massively appreciated, no matter how big or small. We are extremely grateful for the support.

Shortly we'll post up our chosen route - we'd love to incorporate a loop 100km-150km loop at the end for others to join along for the ride! As we get closer to the big ride we will be sure to post further updates. If you see us out there training in our team kit be sure to give us a yell!

- Brent, James & Matt

5 PASSES TOUR COMPLETION || 500km ROUTE!  30 November 2025

5 Passes Tour is DONE! The team had a great extended weekend away down in the South Island - the weather turned it on! All of the bodies held up well with the back-to-back-to-back-to-back days in the saddle and the legs made it through to the other side. How cruel is a maximum effort 23km time trial to close out the event on the back of 650km and 5500m! The Bondor, Fonko, Cabin Centre team kit stood out perfect in the bunch and received plenty of compliments from the other riders - enjoy a team photo below from the Tour!

As we near closer to the big 500km, we have locked in our chosen route. Our route features 2 loops, 1) ~380km from Auckland City to Wilson Bay (a little shy of Coromandel) & back, and 2) ~120km loop from Auckland City to Devonport & back.

For anyone keen to join at different stages this creates a few options:

1) Starting and Finishing at Clevedon (Approx 250km)

2) Starting and Finishing at Miranda (Approx 130km)

3) Starting and Finishing under the Auckland Harbour Bridge City Side (Approx 120km

Thank you again to everyone for your support. The boys are fizzed for this one. Lets cross our fingers for some nice weather!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
