Takapuna Grammar School Boys 1st XI are going to be shaving their heads at the conclusion of the season to raise money for breast cancer.

Auckland

On the 15th December 2020, I was coaching Auckland U19s, just after the first ball I received a call to inform me that my Mum had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then she has had surgery and currently undergoing chemotherapy. Throughout this process, my Mum has remained a pillar of strength never wavering in her determination to beat this.

Throughout this ordeal, it has shown me what so many people go through in their own battles with cancer. Therefore I wanted to do something to help and the least I could do was shave my head in support and raise as much money as possible. Some of the Takapuna Grammar Boys 1st XI have chosen to do just that as well and together we hope to raise as much money as possible for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

Through my own experience, I have seen how many people are affected by breast cancer and I wanted to be able to do something about it.
