I’m cutting 35.5cm off my hair to make a wig as well as raising money for CanTeen New Zealand.
Hawke's Bay
It’s time for someone more deserving to love my hair. In April, I will be cutting off 35.5cm of my hair. My friends know how much I love my hair and how often I avoid the hairdresser- I’ve gone 6 years without cutting it. I’ve decided to cut off my long mop so it can become a wig for someone who I know will love it more than I do.
I have wanted to help CanTeen long before my Dad was diagnosed with cancer- a battle that he has recently overcome. This personal experience has shown me how cancer affects individuals, family and friends in their day-to-day life.
I’ve chosen to support CanTeen- a support network for young people living with cancer in New Zealand. CanTeen can help with study, relationships, stress and most importantly encouragement. Please help me reach my goal of $500.
I am cutting my hair for cancer, through the company Freedom Wigs. As well as donating my hair as a wig, I also thought I would try and raise money for CanTeen. This will support young people living with Cancer.
The (actual) Chop! 20 April 2019
Hi guys! Thank you to all those who have donated. I’ve managed to beat both my goals of $500 and then $1000!! Donations close on Monday (at midnight) so if you know of anyone who is willing to donate, let them know! I cut 15 inches off my hair on April 17t. It may take a bit to get used to, but no regrets at all. Again, thanks for all the support, hugely appreciated!
