I am a "Wish Dad" giving back to Make-A-Wish to say thank you for all they have done for my son Lachlan.
Auckland
My name is Daniel Islip and I am a husband, father of three and a Police Officer in South Auckland.
Lachlan (9) our son was diagnosed with Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 3 years old and he struggles on a daily basis with mobility and pain and is on regular medication to manage the effects of the condition.
In 2018, Lachlan was granted his one true wish for a Lego themed bedroom make over with Make-A-Wish New Zealand. This has helped Lachlan immensely as with limited mobility he enjoys sitting, playing with his lego and the layout has been designed for him to move around and utilise the space and features.
My family and I are so very grateful for what Make-A-Wish has done for Lachlan and as our way of saying thank you and giving back to Make-A-Wish so they can grant more wishes, I signed up to participate as an ambassador for The Ultimate Adventure Challenge (Adventure All Stars).
This event is the first ever to be run in New Zealand and involves a week of adventures being filmed by Charity TV Global (an award winning Australian television production company) who will produce a 6 episode TV series.
Filming took place with my team of 6 from Make-A-Wish from Monday the 12th to Friday 16th August 2019 as we ventured around Northland, New Zealand with Erin Simpson as the host and a 4 strong camera crew and I am so excited to see the end result on TV in early 2020.
As part of this challenge, I have a target to raise $10,000 for Make-A-Wish New Zealand. So far I am up to approximately $5,500 raise from fundraising events and donations.
I am so very grateful for those who have already supported me with this cause and I look forward to all any other support as I work towards this target.
...and I will be giving away spot prizes for those who donate!

Thanks for your support so far 3 September 2019
Your support for make a wish is much appreciated. Your money will go towards other children like my boy Lachlan, helping them put a smile on their face to an otherwise unforgiving life.
If I can please ask you to share and promote my give a little page and see what other generous people are willing to contribute.
