Fundraising for I Am Hope Foundation

Taupo, Waikato

On 27–28 June 2026, I'll be spending 24 hours carrying and moving a strainer post as part of a fundraising challenge for I Am Hope and men's mental health.

The challenge is called The Weight We Carry.

The post represents the weight many men carry every day but rarely talk about — stress, grief, anxiety, depression, responsibility, loss, and the pressure to keep going no matter what.

In the lead-up to the event, people will be invited to write names, messages, reminders, or tributes directly onto the post. These may be the names of loved ones lost, personal struggles, or words that simply need to be heard.

From 11am Saturday until 11am Sunday, the post will continue its journey, carried by myself and anyone who wishes to join me along the way.

This is not about fitness. It's about creating conversations. It's about giving people a reason to stop, connect, share a story, remember someone important, or simply know they're not alone.

If you've lost someone, are carrying something heavy, or just want to walk alongside others for a while, you're welcome to join us.

Every donation helps support the incredible work I Am Hope does for young New Zealanders and their mental wellbeing.

Because no one should have to carry the weight alone.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
