Be part of something extraordinary and join the movement to prevent the onset of diabetes. Be the positive impact that you want to see.

Auckland

The Brown Foundation is an organization that supports the Diabetes NZ Auckland Branch. The aim of this organization is to raise awareness and provide advocacy for over 100,000 people in Auckland alone living with diabetes. The Brown Foundation hopes to accomplish this and promote healthy living for adolescents in order to avoid the onset of type 2 diabetes. We want to combat and prevent the possibility of diabetes today - beginning with active living for youth, healthy eating, and establishing a sense of community.

The Brown Foundation's involvement (page creator)

I am a passionate advocate for diabetes prevention as I have seen the consequences of the disease first hand. I believe in the power of a positive and healthy life style that can help those around us grow to be the best that they can be. I have learnt that not only is it difficult for those who have obtained the disease, because the extent of its impact can be massive. As a 17 year old, I have the ability to do something NOW - to prevent the onset of what could be avoided not only for myself but for those around me. This page is dedicated to Hal Brown - my best friend and part of my family. My hope is that my work can help prevent what my best friend had to endure, hopefully extend the lives of many, and impact the world in a positive way.
