1600km in 24 hours to help vulnerable animals through Pet Refuge NZ and Pound Paws Rescue. Every step matters.
Timaru, Canterbury
Miles for Mutts is a 24-hour time capped community moveathon hosted by Pinnacle Performance, with one mission: to help vulnerable animals get the second chance they deserve.
From 20–21 June 2026, our team and community will attempt to move 1600km in 24 hours across running, walking, rowing, skiing and cycling — all while raising vital funds for Pet Refuge NZ and Pound Paws Rescue NZ.
Pet Refuge NZ provides temporary shelter and care for pets affected by family violence, helping remove one of the biggest barriers preventing victims from escaping unsafe situations. Their work gives pets a safe haven while families rebuild their lives.
Pound Paws Rescue NZ is a volunteer-run rescue based in North Otago and South Canterbury that takes in dogs from difficult situations including pound dogs, farm dogs, owner surrenders and animals requiring extensive veterinary care. They also support the community through desexing assistance, food parcels, rehoming and education.
Every dollar raised helps provide food, emergency veterinary care, safe accommodation, behavioural support, rehabilitation and ongoing care for animals in need.
This event is about more than fitness. It’s about community, compassion and showing up for those who can’t ask for help themselves.
Their second chance starts with your first step.
