Based around North Otago/South Canterbury, take in dogs from further afield, from all types of desperate situations. We are often their last hope. Many are needing extensive veterinary treatment – dental extractions, arthritis treatment, x-rays, fracture repairs, heart medication, bloods, behavioural support, special diets. We are strong advocates of spay/neuter and we offer assistance to struggling pet owners.

Self funded and rely on our own fundraising efforts and donations from the public.

Pup surrendered to vet clinic 10 February 2026

Monday PM: 13 week old pup brought into a vet clinic late this afternoon, very unwell. Vet got in touch to see if we could help her. Owners surrendered.

On her x-rays, one side of her chest showed as all white (it should show as black).

Transferred to after-hours vet by a volunteer.

They are doing bloods now. 💗 Be ok wee one x

Tuesday AM:

From volunteer Megan - "Just collected her from After-hours. She’s doing well. Infectious pneumonia they think, it should be treatable, but she’s so small and obviously been fighting awhile. But it is good news!"

❤️ This is better than we expected! Go wee pup! Being transferred to the other vet clinic. Pup is in Christchurch.
