North Otago/South Canterbury region. Take in dogs from further afield, from all types of desperate situations. We are often their last hope. Many are needing extensive veterinary treatment – dental extractions, arthritis treatment, x-rays, fracture repairs, heart medication, bloods, behavioural support, special diets. We advocate for spay/neuter programs and assist struggling pet owners.

Self funded and rely on our own fundraising efforts and donations from the public.

Surprise Surgeries 8 September 2026

⚠️ We've just paid bills for last month - about $16,000 all up (this does not include the ones that have already been paid at time of purchase, eg Vetpost, food etc) - for all sorts of vet care, including the "surprise" surgeries (JPS) needed for our 6 beautiful French Mastiff crosses. They are healing really well, and all have a checkup at the end of this week. Then, ready for adoption! ❣️

We struggle to raise funds for surgeries when the dogs are already in our care.

We currently have $4,300 in total left in our bank account.

We are putting out our paws in the hope that we can russell up some much needed donations. As always, we are so grateful to everyone that helps! A little all adds up to a lot!
