To honour the memory of Russell Cullen

Whilst riding the Tour Aotearoa, Russell unexpectedly passed away on the 15 March 2022, shortly after completing the first 1,000kms of the 3,000km journey.

We lost a special person in Russell and he will be deeply missed by many.

Russell's chosen charity for the Tour Aotearoa is Wingspan. He was particularly passionate about their work helping the endangered Karearea (endemic NZ Falcon). Russell even carried a Karearea bird with him on the Tour Aotearoa, telling anyone who would listen, and even those that wouldn't.

We would like to raise $10,000 in Russel's memory, to fund an annual release of Karearea into the wild. The Karearea numbers are fewer than the Kiwi. It is the country's most threatened bird of prey.
