Help me support the Malcam Charitable Trust in Toss the Boss 2018 by sponsoring me to abseil the Forsyth Barr Stadium
Otago
Ben started his career as a forensic psychologist in Her Majesty's Prison Service in England where his work was focused on the assessment and treatment of prisoners, and advising Parole Board and Court decisions. After attaining a Masters in Criminology, he moved into a role as an Inspector with HM Inspector of Probation.
Ben was part of the first multi-agency inspections of Youth Offending Teams and went on to lead inspections of Youth Offending Teams and probation areas, as well as participate in joint inspections of Local Authorities. After a period working for the Ministry of Justice in the UK in a strategy role, Ben emigrated with his family to New Zealand in 2009.
Since moving to New Zealand, Ben has focused on developing his leadership skills in diverse roles within the Department of Corrections, including strategic planning, advising members of the Leadership Team and as Director Programmes and Interventions, where he played a lead role in increasing offender access to rehabilitative programmes and the cross-agency family violence design work.
Ben has been Regional Commissioner since 25 January 2016 and has especially enjoyed his work around embedding the ‘one team’ approach across services, improving staff safety through quality practice and leadership development.
Ben is travelling from Christchurch especially to participate in this event. Show your support and help Ben hit his target.
On the morning of the 24th May I'll be abseiling from the roof of Forsyth Barr Stadium 35 metres to the pitch below, fundraising for the Malcam Charitable Trust. All funds raised will go towards providing the youth of Otago experiences that enable them to discover who they are, and where they fit in.
Support our brave bosses as they put it on line to raise funds for the Malcam Charitable Trust.
