Help me support the Malcam Charitable Trust in Toss the Boss 2018 by sponsoring me to abseil the Forsyth Barr Stadium
Otago
When I spoke at an event in Balclutha recently I was telling the audience how I got asked to go cross country skiing when I had just gone blind and politely turned it down, realising when I got home that I wasn’t going to make a very good blind person if I turned down opportunities that came my way. So, I decided from that moment on that if anyone asked me to do anything I would say why not!
Little did I realise when I was telling this story that in the audience was the Malcam Trust’s Desiree Williams who, at question time, in front of 200 youth, asked me “Do you want to absail from the top of the Forsyth Barr Stadium Julie?” What could I say? I had to say “why not Desiree!”
So, here I am, totally blind and totally keen to get out of my comfort zone to prove to myself that I can do the things I think I can’t and to raise money for an organisation who’s people are it’s profit!
I'm very keen to reach my target and ask for your support!
On the morning of the 24th May I'll be abseiling from the roof of Forsyth Barr Stadium 35 metres to the pitch below, fundraising for the Malcam Charitable Trust. All funds raised will go towards providing the youth of Otago experiences that enable them to discover who they are, and where they fit in.
Support our brave bosses as they put it on line to raise funds for the Malcam Charitable Trust.
