Kia ora e hoa mā,
We are just under 40 days to go till the big abseil for Toss the Boss! Thank you so much for your willingness to support Southern Youth Devleopment and make a real difference to the mahi we do for rakatahi/young people in our community.
We were honoured to be an organisation receiving recognition by the Minister for Youth, Willow-Jean Prime, in particular for our bikes@syd bicycle recycling programme that has been operating since 2018. You can watch the video of her answer to question 8 at parliament here below. Mention of sẏd just before the 2nd minute.
It's moments like these that remind us of the importance of the work that we do. Over 1600 rakatahi participate in our programmes, and we are not fully funded for this work. Despite this, we work on a model that ensures that rakatahi receive help and support to be the best they can be, regardless of where they are in their journey. Whether it's re-engagement with education or employment, we're there to support.
We are still getting bosses on board for this years event, so if you're on the fence about considering this opportunity - get in touch with our team today! Email events@syd.org.nz and we'll give you the lowdown.
To all our donors and participants - kā mihi nui e hoa mā. Your support makes a world of difference to our rakatahi. Please share and encourage your community to donate for the future of our youth.
