Fundraising for I Am Hope Foundation

Ashburton, Canterbury

#1 Turning 50 - A good excuse to do another coast to coast (North to South this time).

#2 A great adventure with good friends.

#3 Raising funds for a worthy cause. Raising two sons, now young men has been the highlight of our lives. It also had it's challenge's. Especially negotiating the challenges of mental health, making sure they are safe. We were fortunate to get access to great professional help, and could afford it. For many, this is not the case. Gumboot Friday is a great initiative. Allowing access for young people to get professional help for them to understand what is going on in their minds, to develop some tools and skills. Far better than waiting for them to crash and burn, to end up in a hole before they can access help through our healthcare system. A hole that is so much harder for them to get out of.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
