Tour De Plim for Riding for Disabled
Plimmerton, Porirua
9 years ago, a group of friends decided that there weren’t enough cyclists on our road. To fix this problem we started a group, gang or a posse if you may, which decided to ride house to house, enjoying a beverage and wearing way too tighter cycling attire.
Over the years we have grown, matured and started riding for important causes. This year, one of our riders Sam lost his amazing sister Renee. She was a large part of his life and we would like to pay homage to her.
Renee attended RDA in Porirua as a rider, later a volunteer. This organisation has since moved to Pauatahanui but still offers the same amazing values and experience for their attendees.
Riding for disabled offers riders an opportunity to experience something that we take for granted, providing interaction with horses to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people experiencing disability, or who have specific challenges or need.
We riders of Tour De Plim couldn’t think of a better cause and are proud to ride for them.
