Together we’ve raised a massive $14,700 for Alzheimers NZ which will go toward national education, support for the people suffering, and will help to keep dementia front of mind for government.

Two weeks seem to have flown by following the big day. I managed to get from A to B and complete the 100 Miler! I'm feeling chuffed to have gotten through it and am proud of the big effort I put in, but it wasn't without an incredible amount of support:

To my family and friends, thank you for backing me all the way. Love to you all!

To my family and friends supporting me on the day, thank you for your endless energy, for your patience, and for being part of the journey! What a team!!

To all who supported and watched on from afar on the day and throughout the night, thank you too!

To the legend Kerry Suter who coached me throughout my prep for the event, it’s been a real privilege working with you and getting to know you. Thank you for all your encouragement, frankness, and guidance throughout the build up.

Thank you to the trail running community, the volunteers, and everyone who made TUM happen.

Finally, thank you to my Dad for introducing me to the world of endurance, and to the great outdoors. I know you’d be proud of what we’ve all achieved! Forever in your honour mate ❤️❤️

  • 2022 and the 2023 Tarawera Ultramarathon

2022 became a really tough year. Dad's Alzheimer's Disease had a massive impact on the life he lived and the way we could live life with him. It took him from home to a care facility, care facility to hospital, and finally from hospital into palliative care. Dad fought a tough and noble battle before passing peacefully in November... we all loved and still miss him so so much. Regardless of what he did, he did it with joy, happiness, commitment, and lived as full of a life as possible, with or without illness. In honour of my Dad I have remained committed to running the Tarawera Ultramarathon 100 Miler. The 2022 event got cancelled but it'll all be going ahead in 2023. The training's been going well and the event's creeping up on me now. 11th Feb. T-20! More to follow xx

Thank you all for donating so so generously. We've passed $10000! Incredible! I'll be in touch later in the year when I begin to build up to the 2023 Tarawera Ultramarathon 100 Miler and follow through on what I've committed to... until then... much love!
