Canterbury
Globally, 1 in 9 people lack access to safe water. Water accessibility is a major problem in many countries. To retrieve water, often kilometres will have to be travelled either way, with the heavy load of the water adding to the difficulty of the task. Even so, this water may still not be free of potentially dangerous bacteria or organisms.
I will be walking in the Running Without Borders Walk For Water, walking 10km while carrying 10L of water to raise awareness of this issue.
I have been a member of Engineers Without Borders since 2016, and am the current secretary of the Canterbury Students Chapter
Running Without Borders is raising funds for humanitarian engineering by running the Christchurch Marathon
