Hiking the Te Araroa Trail 20/21 🇳🇿 Raising funds for Pillars
Auckland
Kia ora! For the rest of 2020 and beginning of 2021 I’m hiking the Te Araroa Trail - a 3000km trail winding all the way from Cape Reinga to Bluff. This relatively new trail, which is made up of a range of different smaller trails, explores heaps all of the incredible landscape NZ has to offer. Depending on weather and injury (and moving alert levels...!), I’m hoping to finish it anywhere between 95 and 120 days.
Through this thru-hike I’ll be raising funds for the amazing charity Pillars, Ka Pou Whakahou. Over 23,000 children in NZ have at least one parent in prison, and are nine times more likely to go to prison as a result. Pillars works to provide these children with mentoring and wrap around services for their whānau and caregivers.
The work of Pillars affects real generational change, and any money donated can help contribute to a positive future for the child and strengthen the community around them. Any amount donated at all is appreciated and makes a difference!
