Did you know some women have to walk 6km each day for clean water?

$390 of $1,000 goal
Given by 13 generous donors in 14 days

We are walking 6km in the Auckland CBD while carrying 20 kilograms of water, to support EWBNZ.

Auckland

On the 20th of March 2020 a group of Watercare employees will be walking 6km in Auckland while carrying 20 kilograms of water.

Many places in the world access to water isn’t so easy - 29% of the population still does not have access to a ‘safely managed’ drinking water service, and that the burden of acquiring water for their families falls disproportionately to women. In parts of Africa and Asia, this burden is an average of 20 litres carried six kilometers.

Engineering Without Borders New Zealand (EWBNZ) is working hard to help local engineers design, operate and maintain locally sourced water supplies in a culturally appropriate context.
