I'm running to raise awareness for TimeOut.

  • Yeow! We did it!

9 weeks of this campaign is coming to an end tomorrow at midnight! Thank you to everyone that has shared this journey with me and supported me along the way.

I'm more than blown away by how much we've raised and so is the team at TimeOut.

After crossing that finish line, I've just enjoyed the Big Al burger at Ferg Burger in tribute of the old man, followed by the most delicious beer. Now it's time for a nap!

    Thanks team! 👊

This is another huge shout out and thank you to everyone who has checked out the page, the charity Time Out, and to everyone who has shared or commented on a post—and of course to everyone who has parted ways with their money to support me and this wonderful charity.

I want to make a special note of Elliott for being the 69th donator and then donating $69 – nice! And to the anonymous donator, dropping a massive $500 to the cause – the generosity has blown me away!

All the running (and the recovery beers,) the GPS art, the beep test, the post updates, the physio session, the strength training, the swimming, the cycling, the aqua-jogging – it's all come down to this!

I've got my race-day shirt printed with all the visible names, and have left a space for all those anonymous donators and those that have donated after the print... I'll make the final count on race day and update you with a better picture so here's just a teaser...

Race day is not far away now! See ya in Queenstown!

  • It's not too late!

      5 November 2020

It's been a pretty quiet few weeks from my end, my run training has taken a massive hit due to a relatively minor injury that I haven't wanted to aggravate at all.

But this has meant I've rediscovered swimming! Very low impact cardio but also really meditative!? I'm doing laps almost every other day at the moment and loving it.

Anyway, I'm starting to plan out my running shirt with the printers, so if you're wanting to make a last minute donation then now's the time! All donations before the weekend will get added to the list.

Just as a reminder, all donations with a name will be added to the list of backers on the back of my race-day t-shirt!

Race day isn't far away now!

  • It's been a ruff week...

      7 October 2020

Coming back from sickness made training feel all the more difficult, not to mention the snow down here in Dunedin… which, I stupidly ran in. Can’t say I haven’t trained in all conditions for this Queenstown run now!

Things are on the up for Al – he finished some intense radiation therapy – 10 days of it! So fingers crossed the pain will subside and he will be off doing cartwheels in no time.

This all calls for a celebratory GPS art run and trying out some new video content. Let me know what you think and I’ll look to make some more of these so you can see me run for over an hour... trimmed down to 30 seconds – makes it look so easy.

  • Backing me all the way!

I was hoping to get out for another GPS art run today… but it’s snowing here in Dunedin so that one will have to wait.

That means this weeks update is a little different – as a thank you and a show of appreciation, all your lovely donor names are getting printed on my race-day shirt!

Any donation before the 7th of November (I need time to get it printed) will be added to the list of backers and supporters so you can all run with me in Queenstown!

If you don’t want your first name printed, or, you are an anonymous donor and do want your first name printed, please reach out to me through the questions feature on this page and I’ll make sure your wishes are followed.

  • Not to be alarming but we hit over $1000 in the first week!

Thank you so much to all the supporters that have reached out to me and have also supported this amazing charity.

To express how *beeping* blown away I am, I attempted a Beep Test for the first time in probably 10 years... I had grand visions of this being an epic post, but alas, the GPS just scribbled away as I slipped on the wet grass.

    I managed a measly 11.2 beeps.

I might try this again later in the piece, but preferably on a better, non-slippery surface.

Stay tuned for the next update – I have a pretty neat idea for the next milestone we hit…

Contrary to popular belief the T in T-rex actually stands for Thankful.

Which is exactly how I'm feeling right now. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and shared this page so far.

Together we've hit a $500 milestone and that means a grand reveal of today's creative GPS art.
