We aim to fundraise $1000 Dollars and 1000 Cans. This is to spread awareness on homelessness, people going through financial crisis and others who are in desperate need of help, who can benefit astoundingly off something as small as a can of food.

The services that the city mission offer have developed over time to reflect social changes, however their main purpose is to help people in desperate need. With everybody's support at Glendowie College, we will help the city mission staff provide hospitality, support, social interaction and skills development. Also help them to meet physical needs and address long-term issues such as housing, physical and mental health concerns and financial issues.

At Glendowie College one of our main school values is "we are family". We believe that by fundraising for the Auckland City Mission we could be helping other families in our community and making a difference.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
