What it says on the can. I'm shaving my head for charity. Please be nice and give me money for it (or really, for the charities).
Waikato
I've been needing a haircut for a while, but due to a combination of laziness and an inability to be a grown-up, I never booked an appointment. Then I realised that my hair was officially long enough to give to charity to make wigs. What tipped me over was when I realised that if I got my head SHAVED, I wouldn't have to pay for an expensive haircut that would grow out in a couple of months anyway. What can I say? My great-grandparents were Scottish I think.
So this way I can give to charity and get a free haircut. Plus I've always wanted to know what I would look like bald. I'm giving to the Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ because "Shave for a Cure" is their signature fundraising method, and I want to acknowledge that, but I also want to give to the Cancer Society because all cancer sucks. Diabetes NZ is pretty close to my heart, because my (not so) little brother and best friend have Type 1, my Dad has Type 2 and I have several other friends who have to deal with it on the daily too.
Basically guys, this is an easy way to give to a few good causes, and I'd really appreciate whatever anyone is willing to give. :)
My brother, best friend, and a few other friends have Type 1 diabetes. Shaving one's head is Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ's signature fundraising method and cancer just sucks, so giving to Cancer Society seemed pretty straightforward.
