Fundraising for Camp Quality New Zealand

Waikato

Camp Quality have been our family for more than 10 years. Lennox was diagnosed with and treated for retinoblastoma when she was 3, and went to her first winter camp just after her 5th birthday. Camp became a home away from home and we counted down to each winter and summer camp every year. For Lennox, it was amazing to have safe people outside her family, who would support her to challenge herself in safe ways, and normalise her medical and physical needs.

For me, it was always hard waving Lennox off at the bus, but incredible to know she would be in safe hands for the duration of camp, and would come back full of new experiences and more confidence.

Lennox attended every camp bar one (due to illness) until she aged out at 16. Camp Quality have done so much for us, I decided it was time to give back!

This year, I am going to run 7 of the Kiwi Aramex walk and run series, to raise money for Camp Quality, the charity partner of the race series. As part of the Camp family I get free entry, so will donate the equivalent to my fundraiser.

I would love it if you could support my efforts by chipping in - any amount helps!

Camp Quality is a haven for children who are or have experienced cancer. They changed our lives for the better, and I hope this fundraiser can help to express my gratitude for everything they have done for us.

Event #2 - Walk n Wag  13 May 2026

The Walk n Wag event in Auckland will definitely be one of my favourites no matter what, because I got to pat lots of dogs!

I was one of the few people running without a dog (mine is annoying to run with), and I missed a turnoff so did a slightly different course than I was supposed to (same distance), so although I did come first in the 9km event, it wasn't really a "win" in that sense!

Still, I was pleased with my efforts, and enjoyed the run along the waterfront. It was a lot hotter than I was expecting it to be, and I regretted not bringing my re-useable cup, as it's a cupless event. Definitely time to invest in a vest.

The next Kiwi Aramex event isn't for a few months, but I've got plenty of other events to keep me busy until then!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
