Supporting young adults to live with and survive cancer. The ADJUST YOUR ALTITUDE CHALLENGE - Tongariro Crossing
Nationwide
It's cancer. 2 little words. And you're 25 years old. It can't be, but it is. I'm not supposed to be facing my own mortality. I should be out enjoying life and looking forward to my future. This just doesn't seem fair or right. Reality seems to have gotten all twisted up and muddled. Who can I turn to? Who do I talk with? So many questions and confusion. The cancer support groups are full of people who are either much older or much younger, and their issues are so different.
And so that's why the The Whole Lotta Life Foundation was started. To support young adults to navigate through the maze and confusion that comes with a cancer diagnosis. So that they know that they are not alone and have somewhere to go, somewhere to belong, with people who understand what they are going through.
Like the Foundation I want to do what I can as well..... and so I am raising funds by walking (probably pretty slowly!) the Tongariro Crossing on the 24 November. I'll be part of the ADJUST YOUR ALTITUDE CHALLENGE, and trust me it will be a challenge on all levels (I'm not good with heights for one thing and the starting altitude is 1,121m!) and it's just under 20km long.
I have set my fundraising target at $1,500 and with your support I know that we will get there. We can all make a difference, it's just about taking the first step...
The Whole Lotta Life Foundation is committed to providing a thriving community, support and hope for young adults in New Zealand affected by cancer. No one should have to face a cancer diagnosis alone.
This isn’t just a hike. It isn’t just a fundraiser.
