Help ME Timaru

We run a non profit organisation providing food hampers, clothing and household essentials for families in need or in crisis.

Canterbury

We collect donations like beds, bedding, clothes, food etc. We then give it to the families in need like family violence suffers. families on a benefit struggling. Woman and children that have left a relationship with nothing. we do over 35 food parcels a week this is a growing number.

More about us

Over six months ago I kept seeing all over Facebook that families were struggling with the basic essentials for there family and asking Facebook to help with food and clothing and household like beds, draws, mattresses, ect.

I decided to help from what I can and started collecting from others what I could to give to the families in need. Started a page on Facebook Help ME Timaru what got me front page in the local paper. What I got lots of stuff donated to me/organisation and still more every week.

Now I help out battered woman and families, low income families, young families, and families that have nothing due to emergencies.

I do over 35 food hamper per week and growing. I do pick ups and drop off with stuff and big household essentials to the families in need. All with one low income household kids and my own family to feed. I spend close to $200 per week every week on food, gas, trailers , storage sheds, to help those less fortunate than myself.

So any little money I do find goes straight back to this.

The need is getting so big I need your help. The more money I raise the more families I can help

SO PLEASE HELP :)

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
